Before joining Stevenson & Company, Mr. McNeely spent fifteen years in
the hardware, housewares, and sporting goods field in a variety
of sales and marketing positions. For Stevenson & Company,
Tom specializes in these consumer products sectors.
Earlier in his career, Tom was a financial futures pit trader
at the Chicago Board of Trade. He was awarded his Chartered Financial
Analyst designation in 2003 by the CFA Institute and is a member of the Investment
Analysts Society of Chicago. He has sold and marketed a wide
variety of products across all retail and distributor channels:
big box, mass merchant, discount, co-operative, and catalog showroom.
Tom has been a featured speaker at local and national
industry trade shows, and spoke on the topic of “Maximizing
Business Value for the Supplier Community” at the sporting goods
industry SGMA Super Show. He also has had articles published by the American Hardware Manufacturer's Association.
Tom received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois
and received an MBA in Finance from DePaul University. In addition,
Tom has owned and operated a family business, giving
him intimate knowledge of the delicate merger dynamics that occur
with family and privately-owned businesses.
