 Stevenson & Company recently completed the sale of the Gas Measurement Equipment business headquartered in Thetford, England and owned by FMC Technologies to Flow Metering Company Ltd.
Founded in 1922, the FMC Gas Measurement business supplies equipment
for measuring and metering natural gas and other gas products. It markets a
branded line of products under the OrificeMaster™ and MeasureMaster™
trade names through a broad network of distributors and sales
representatives. Its larger, more sophisticated products are generally sold
into the Middle East and Europe and its smaller products into North America.
The products are known for quality and enjoy great customer and industry
acceptance around the world.
Stevenson identified the Flow Metering Company in its worldwide search for
strategic and financial buyers. Stevenson initiated a dialog with this
European equipment manufacturer and learned of its interest in adding gas
orifice valves to its line of flow measurement devices. In addition to new
products, the acquisition adds a significant number of new customers to the
company.
This transaction accomplishes the objectives of both parties. It allows FMC
Technologies to exit the business and focus on its core business interests
and Flow Metering Company to expand its product line and presence in the
worldwide marketplace. All of the employees have been retained and
existing management will continue to run the day-to-day operations in its
current location. This marks the seventh business that Stevenson &
Company has helped sell for FMC.
