Parts Handling Automation – Vibratory Bowl Feeders
Stevenson & Company completed the sale of the Syntron® Parts Handling Division of
FMC Technologies in a management buyout. Our client is a $4.6 billion public corporation that
looks to Stevenson for divestiture of its small non-core businesses. This marks the fourth business
that Stevenson & Company has helped sell for FMC in the past two years.
The Parts Handling Business of FMC manufacturers the Syntron® brand of parts automation
equipment. Its products include vibratory and rotary bowl feeders that move product from the bulk
stage, singulate it for positive orientation, and efficiently present and position it for further
processing. It sells to a wide variety of industries including pharmaceutical, food, electronics,
automotive, consumer products, etc.
Stevenson targeted thirty strategic buyers in this engagement. It received a number of offers and
ultimately decided to sell the business in a management buyout.
Both FMC and the new owners are extremely pleased with the transaction. All of the employees
have been retained and the business continues to operate out of the same plant location.
